All seven home weekend baseball series’ during the 2014 “Tip You Cap To Packard” season are dedicated to honoring a different decade or aspect of Packard Stadium and Sun Devil Baseball’s storied legacy.

As part of the season-long celebration, we are recognizing season-ticket holders whose support through the years has played an integral role in the long-standing success of the program.

Congratulations to this weekend’s Sun Devil Baseball Legacy Supporters, Dave Brown and Barbara Harshfield.

As part of our appreciation, Dave and Barbara will be recognized during Sunday’s game against Tennessee, and will each receive commemorative “Tip Your Cap To Packard” official memorabilia

Q&A with Barbara, who lives in Show Low, has been a season ticket holder since 1996:

What is your best Sun Devil Baseball memory?

Hearing my grandson, Danny Vaughn, lead the crowd in “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at the age of 5. He was perfect and it was spectacular. The crowd loved it!

Another time Danny got to go down on the field, stand by home plate, take the microphone and announce, “Play Ball!” to the crowd – unforgettable!

I’ll never forget the flags flying in the outfield, the names of the ASU All-Stars on the fence, the tribute to Pat Tillman, the aroma of the BBQ, the home runs that landed on Rural Road, the sight of the Devils warming up, and of course, awesome Sparky!

Favorite Sun Devil Player?

Joe Persichina #15

What will you remember most about Packard Stadium?

Besides the fabulous games, I will always remember the many friends I’ve made. They are the best ever! Most of all, I’ll remember Sparky and how great he was with my grandson, Danny, and the rest of my family – I love Sparky! I’ll also remember the great announcer who played “Sweet Caroline” and asked the crowd to sing along. I loved the way he introduced Jason K_____ip____nis.

Best Omaha Memory?

I’ve never been to a game, but I went on a trip. Rosenblatt Stadium was closed, but a groundskeeper was there – He showed us all the plaques about ASU winning the College World Series and he unlocked the gate to the field and let me go down and stand on the infield…a dream come true.

What is the Best Game Played at Packard Stadium?

Any game the ASU played in!!

Q&A with Dave, who lives in Scottsdale, is a Sun Devil Club member and has been a season ticket holder since 1994

What is your best memory?

There are many, but I think that most about the camaraderie with the group I sit with high fiveing after the Devils score a run. Also, every time we beat the Wildcats.

Favorite player?

Dustin Pedroia

What will you remember most about Packard Stadium?

The crowds. The attendance at the games has been exhilarating.

Have you ever been to Omaha for the World Series?

Yes, in 2005 and 2010

In your opinion, what was the best game played at Packard stadium?

Honestly, there are so many I cannot pick just one. Sorry!!
