It’s a big week around Sun Devil Athletics! The Ducks come to town Thursday. Don’t wait, get your Blackout gear now! Men’s hoops has a free scrimmage on Saturday, October 20, at 10 a.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. The men’s basketball scrimmage means you can check out Mesa’s Jahii Carson. The Associated Press says he will provide Sun Devil excitement. Volleyball returns home October 19-21 after two weeks on the road.

How many times has an opponent been ranked second at Frank Kush Field?   

An incredible opportunity awaits not only our players, but our program and university this week. Oregon will come into our stadium ranked second next Thursday. Having an opponent ranked that high should not be taken for granted. We need you there, in black, cheering like crazy. Tell your Sun Devil friends to buy a ticket right here. I talked about how important this game is on my local radio show last week on Arizona Sports 620 AM.  

Awesome Hoops Event 

Big Thanks to Jeff Lowe of MidFirst Bank for pulling together a group of passionate Sun Devils to talk Sun Devil Basketball Tuesday night at Del Frisco’s which resulted in more than 100 season tickets being sold! Coach Sendek spoke from the heart and everyone in the room was excited to hear about Sun Devil Athletics and the Sun Devil Way.


Remember October 20 is our Men’s Basketball Scrimmage

One more reminder of our men’s basketball scrimmage at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday, October 20, at 10 a.m. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., admission and parking are free. We are now just weeks away from our men’s hoops opener (November 10) vs. Central Arkansas and our big women’s basketball Title IX celebration on November 11 vs. Texas Tech. Basketball tickets are available by calling 480-727-0000 or come pick them out in person in and receive a private tour.  Also, keep October 25 on your calendar as a day to call in and hear what Coach Sendek has to say about developments in practice. He will do a Fan Forum that evening for Men’s Basketball season ticket holders only. Keep an eye out for the specific time. Want to know more about our team? Read the season preview right here. I found out we have over 50 international students competing in Sun Devil Athletics from Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, England France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Read about a duo on our women’s soccer team from Germany. They are part of Sun Devil Nation, and maybe we should call it Sun Devil International?

Noon kickoff for Homecoming

The Pac-12 announced a 12 p.m. kickoff today for the pivotal conference game against UCLA on October 27. This is also the 2012 Homecoming event so make sure you make special plans to attend with Sun Devil friends old and new.

Hope to see you Thursday at 6 p.m. wearing black. We need every ounce of energy you have. Call off work next Friday now and get ready to beat the Ducks!
