Patterson’s Post
Hey Sun Devils I know I will see you in Sun Devil Stadium Saturday (Sept. 22) for our Hall of Fame game vs. Utah at 7 p.m. Tickets are selling well. More details on that next week, but wanted to give you a couple of quick Sun Devil thoughts…
STUDENT TICKETS MOVING FAST…
As of midweek we had sold more than 11,000 student season tickets and more than 1,200 single-game student tickets in the first two games. Student season sales are up 42% over last year. Last week’s Illinois game was the third most student tickets ever sold behind only last season’s Missouri and Arizona games. Student interest keeps growing in direct proportion to their involvement, especially with the new logo and uniforms. We are really excited for our final four home games and the energy and passion the students bring to the games. Hopefully, Coach Graham keeps tossing game balls and windbreakers to them after wins! You can see the band serenade the students after each game.
DO YOU KNOW AN ARTIST? GRAPHIC DESIGNER? TELL THEM ABOUT THIS…
Our Homecoming game is Oct. 27 vs. UCLA and our game program cover will be created by a fan. We want you to spread the word to fans of all ages that cover ideas are being taken. Sun Devils can submit designs until Sept. 28. Voting starts Oct. 1 and closes Oct. 5. This is a Facebook driven event and we expect some great creativity. Click here for more details!
PAC-12 NETWORKS UPDATE…
All kinds of good things are going on with the Pac-12 Network, including the recent decision by Dish Network to carry the Pac-12 Network. The Pac-12 gives us a great update here. Remember, if you have Charter or Direct TV virtually every other major cable or satellite system has decided to carry the Pac-12 Network. If you’d like to join the fun call DirecTV and let them know you want to see the more than 20 Sun Devil men’s basketball games that will be on Pac-12 Network this year. There is a good chance that our football game at California Sept. 29 will be a Pac-12 Network game. Do what you have to do to get the Pac-12 Network, we are producing some great games, great shows and lots of ASU specific programming that will only get better in time.
SUN DEVIL FOOTBALL SUN DEVIL FUTURE NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS
I heard some Sun Devil questions about our future football schedules this past week as non-conference play closes. We are set through 2017 (although things can always change), and in our next two seasons Wisconsin and Notre Dame come to Tempe. Take a peek below at whom we match up with in the near future outside of the Pac-12. Also keep in mind that in 2013, 2015 and 2017 we win the Territorial Cup games at home.
2013-Sacramento State, Wisconsin, Notre Dame (Dallas)
2014-Weber State, @New Mexico, Notre Dame
2015-New Mexico, @LSU, Cal Poly
2016-NAU, LSU, @Texas-San Antonio
2017-New Mexico State, San Diego State, @Notre Dame
MOVING US AROUND…
More than 3 tons of football equipment is transported on each road trip. Of course we can’t fly it all. How do we get it there? Meet Dircks Moving Services, ASU’s “mover” since 1990. Some numbers are in this link that are head scratching. Guess how many rolls of medical tape we take on a road trip? The answer is in there.
Come out this weekend to Sun Devil Volleyball’s Sheraton Invitational it’s FREE! Don’t forget to watch our next football game on Saturday at Missouri on ESPN 2 at 4:00 PDT.
